The famous Czech factory Tonak makes not only classic felt hats, but also knitted items. We decided to expand our range with knitted hats in a vintage sports and tourist style, which the factory has been producing for decades. Both pleasant color schemes and beautiful winter-themed patterns along with pom-poms and visors give the hats a memorable appearance.
A new wave of interest in such hats appeared thanks to Zhora Kryzhovnikov’s series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt” (2023), dedicated to the phenomenon of street gangs in Kazan in the 1980s. There, such knitted hats with visors and patterns were worn by members of youth gang groups; they were a distinctive sign of belonging to one of these groups. They were not easy to get, and these hats even had special names: “Fernandelka”, “Valtovka”, “Pencil”.
The hats are knitted using a stretch knitting method, the surface is felted and they are suitable for all head sizes. You can purchase these hats both online with delivery inside Russia or in our showrooms in Moscow and St.Petersburg.
