A bandana made of lightweight cotton cambric, created as part of a special project by our Old Pal brand, “Transport that takes your breath away.”
The theme for this bandana was the first Soviet motorcycle, created in the late 1920s by engineer Petr Vladimirovich Mozharov in Izhevsk.
During the spring and fall of 1929, under Mozharov’s leadership, a series of prototypes of IZH motorcycles were completed, which were filled with original engineering and design solutions. For a number of reasons, none of these machines were put into production, but even today their striking appearance makes the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts beat faster.
The key elements of the bandana’s design were the IZH-1 motorcycle, as well as a diagram of the 1929 motorcycle rally with its (and the entire series of first IZH models) participation, a length of 3,300 km, which took place mostly on dirt roads.
Petr Mozharov wrote in 1927, convincing Soviet officials to start developing domestic motorcycles:
“…my view of the motorcycle from the design and operational side is based on 20 years of practical riding on motorcycles of 27 different companies and designs with a mileage of about 60,000 km on Russian and European roads. The entire evolution of the motorcycle took place before my eyes…”.
The repeating elements of the pattern are based on American bandanas of the late 19th - early 20th centuries, the size of 60 by 60 cm is also based on old samples. The drawing for it was created by the artist Denis "Ostem" Weber from St. Petersburg.
Packed in a special envelope made of thin cardboard.
You can wear the bandana scarf in any convenient way: on your neck, on your head, on your clothes, you can use it for interior decor.
