To ensure your waxed cotton garments retain their original water-repellent properties, they need to be cared for: cleaned and rewaxed. This is recommended about once a season.

 

To treat genuine English waxed cotton garments, it is crucial to use the original wax coating (dressing), recommended by manufacturers and specialists.

 

Despite the name, the correct wax dressing does not contain any natural beeswax. It contains only paraffin and a special blend of oils that are ideal for interacting with textiles.

 

The process of cleaning a jacket and restoring the wax coating is quite labor-intensive and requires preparation and knowledge.
