Woven in a small McNutt of Donegal factory in County Donegal in the northwest of Ireland. It was built in the 1950s on a picturesque cliff near a pier on the North Atlantic Ocean in the small village of Downings.
In their scarves and plaids, McNutt of Donegal try to reflect the different facets of the beauty of the local amazing and harsh nature, combining them with the aesthetics of minimalism.
The silky, long and warm fibres of alpaca wool make it softer than cashmere and warmer than sheep's wool, and it is considered one of the most valuable types of wool in the world.
