KOROB KOROB loose-fitting jacket, created on the basis of a peasant work jacket from the first half of the 20th century from the collection of the Russian Ethnographic Museum.

 

The jacket can be fastened on either the left or right side.

 

The main fabric is a replica of traditional Russian striped fabric "pestryad'" made from 100% cotton.

The lining is made of washed ivory cotton. Vegetable tanned leather buttons. Sorcery.

 

In the traditional worldview, striped clothing could be a sign of special status: it was worn by shepherds, artisans, wanderers, those who existed on the border of worlds. In fabrics for ritual clothing, stripes often combined red, black, white - symbols of blood, earth and light.

Garments are inspired by the work of handicraft tailors and at the same time - by the image, costume and heritage of the most closed caste of traditional society - sorcerers.
