A classic felt top hat with a medium-high crown from the oldest manufacturer of felt hats in Eastern Europe, the heir to the hat traditions of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Czech factory Tonak.
Top hats appeared at the end of the 18th century, and already at the beginning of the 19th century became one of the most common European and American middle class headwear. The hat was invariably popular until the last quarter of the 19th century (the beginning of the widespread use of bowlers).
During the 20th century, the top hat was considered the most formal headdress in terms of the dress code, at the same time taking its place in popular culture and becoming one of the symbols of capitalism (rather in an ironic-negative connotation).
For example, the top hat is worn by the rich and stingy Uncle Scrooge in the animated series DuckTales, and the logo of the board game Monopoly has man with moustache in a top hat.
Today, the top hat on one side continues to be a strict ceremonial headdress, while being perfectly combined with classic and designer clothes.
Hat height: 14cm,
length of the brim: 5 cm.
