Medium Fur Ball Drasvi Venn /Vegetable Tanned Leather/

A traditional cowhide ball from the Moscow workshop Drasvi Venn.

 

Hand-sewn using medieval techniques. Suitable for quiet ball games, it's tactilely pleasant and calming.

 

Stuffed with wool scraps.

 

Archaeological finds of similar balls have been found in medieval layers of Veliky Novgorod and Old Ladoga, and in Russian villages, similar balls were used until the beginning of the 20th century.

 

This item is from the Stara (old, Russenorsk) collection, which includes items from old Russian rural life.
