Small Leather Ball Drasvi Venn /Vegetable Tanned Leather/

A traditional lapta ball from the Moscow workshop of Drasvi Venn.

 

Hand-sewn using medieval techniques. Stuffed with wool scraps.

 

Suitable for lapta, juggling, and other ball games.

 

Archaeological finds of similar balls have been found in medieval layers of Veliky Novgorod and Old Ladoga, and in Russian villages, similar balls were used until the beginning of the 20th century.

 

This item is from the Stara (old, Russenorsk) collection, which includes items from old Russian rural life.
